For its 10th exhibition in 2020, the Villa Datris Foundation has chosen to explore recycling in all its forms in contemporary sculpture and to question our relationship with objects.
In our times when sustainable development has become an absolute priority, contemporary artists take possession of this fundamental issue with a particular acuteness. They also find a rich source of inspiration to recreate a new world.

Deliberately, by conviction or choice, artists resort to waste as artistic material in their own right, renouncing the purchase of materials called noble to create or compose their works.
This waste, waste, waste, waste, objects left on behalf and rejected by the flow of consumption find a job, a ‘utility, an ‘identity – a real social metaphor.
