Il prestigioso istituto Métiers d’Excellence LVMH, che quest’anno sceglie l’Italia come paese rappresentante dell’eccellenza creativa, ha selezionato l’artista Francesca Pasquali rappresentata dalla galleria Tornabuoni Art per una collaborazione del tutto inedita con la maestra artigiana di tombolo aquilano Simona Iannini per la realizzazione di un’opera dal titolo Punto plastico.
La materia contemporanea e artificiale vive delle trame del passato attraverso le sapienti mani dell’alto artigianato aquilano: setole di spazzole colorate, tra gli elementi identificativi della ricerca di Pasquali, presentate nella loro forma più pura e inconsueta, evocano fili e filati familiari all’arte del tombolo, che in questo progetto, grazie all’abilità di Iannini, plasmano un intreccio che parla di passato e presente, organico e sintetico, reale e artificiale.

Métiers d’Excellence LMVH and Guerlain present the exhibition Les Militantes, l’engagement au féminin, to be held from October 19 to November 14, 2022, at Maison Guerlain, 68 Champs-Elysées, curated by Caroline Messensee. On display will be the unpublished work Punto plastico by Francesca Pasquali.

The prestigious Métiers d’Excellence LVMH institute, which this year chooses Italy as the representative country of creative excellence, has selected artist Francesca Pasquali represented by Tornabuoni Art gallery for an entirely new collaboration with master lace-maker Simona Iannini from L’Aquila to create a work entitled Punto plastico.
Contemporary and artificial matter lives on the textures of the past through the skilled hands of L’Aquila’s high craftsmanship: bristles of colored brushes, among the identifying elements of Pasquali’s research, presented in their purest and most unusual form, evoke threads and yarns familiar to the art of tombolo, which in this project, thanks to Iannini’s skill, shape a weave that speaks of past and present, organic and synthetic, real and artificial.
